When Pilot asked Jesus “What is truth?” he didn’t want an answer. He was being flippant. He was too powerful, too sophisticated to care what a lowly Jew might say.
Have you ever spoken of your faith only to receive a barely disguised roll of the eyes? Many people find the idea of faith guiding one’s life to be unsophisticated, unscientific and unnecessary. Faith conflicts with the desire to be in control of one’s life. It requires dependence on a higher, greater power. It challenges human knowledge.
Living a life of faith and being unafraid to ask for and acknowledge God’s guidance may be the only witness some will ever have of the loving God we serve. I want to be that witness. Don’t you?
