this picture gives a birds eye view from one of the greatest viewpoints in this area. It is so beautiful here naturally, but the people here are even more beautiful.
the top picture shows some of our kids carrying some big trees out of the forest. these trees were hand selected by a special man and then cut to the exact specifications to make the lodge for the Sun dance. the man in the second picture along with one of their daughters were very appreciative of this work. one of them said that if he had a million dollars it would not be near enough to pay them for what this meant to him and his people. the man on the right in the picture, Tom, gave a talk during one of our breaks that seemed to make time stand still. he spoke to us from his heart with holy and sacred words that these young people, as well as their leaders, will never forget.
this teepee sits on the property of one of the men in the picture above, and all the artwork on it is unique to his family and to his father’s vision. his hospitality to us has been overwhelming.
I am tired, but even rested, it would be hard to come up with words that would adequately describe our experience here. suffice it to say that we are having the time of our lives, and that our hearts and minds are being transformed each day.
